Spark Joy in Your Life with Reiki

Rainbows always spark joy for me

My guides have always taught me to go towards what brings me joy in life. Abraham (law of attraction) and Anastasia (Ringing Cedars) teach that we are meant to feel good and joyful in life. With the beginning of the new year and Netflix’s new show “Tiding Up” with Marie Kondo, I have been pondering joy.

How do you define Joy?

What sensations do you feel when you think of the word joy? I often have associated the word joy with feeling like I’m flying high, super excited, smiles, laughter, feeling like my feet are not even touching the ground. But maybe, joy is something more than just feeling super elated?

expanding your definition of joy

When meditating upon things that bring me joy, even with Reiki turned on, I found it a little hard at first. I started out looking for monumental things. It doesn’t help when my mind was already focused on stressful mundane things, like finances and schedules. It was challenging for me to find a joyful thought at first.

I took the pressure off myself to think of out of the ordinary things, like flying in a hot air balloon or getting a kiss from a sea lion.

I started thinking about things I appreciate, like having a warm bed and a loving dog cuddling next to me. Then I started to feel my vibration and emotional state rising. Meditating on things that brought joy became easier once I opened my perception of joy.

One of the things that I saw in my mind was fruit, papaya and melons. I even saw a head of cauliflower. I felt joy that those images popped in my mind when I was looking for what brings me joy. Such simple things, and fruits and vegetables, truly do spark my joy with the added benefit of sparking health.

Horses and dogs bring me joy too!

That’s when it struck me that joy really is simple. And when you start looking for moments of joy, no matter how small, they really add up. Those tiny sparks ignite a growing fire of joyful passion. Instead of thinking about joy being like someone winning $15 million, I started to think about a happy monk sitting in nature.

When I feel joy, I notice a warm, bubbling feeling in my heart chakra. This feeling can sometimes expand throughout my whole body and aura. I also noticed that I feel grounded in the present moment during moments of joy.

Joy truly is felt in the moment, even if you are thinking about something in the past or imagining something that will happen in the future.

Your vibration makes a difference

Did you know that the more love, joy and appreciation you feel not only alters your life, it can shift the course of humanity? Yes, you sitting alone in your room can add light to the world around. We are all co-creating with the divine light and the more love and pure vibration you hold positively effects us all. Each and every one of us makes a difference.

Meditating on Joy with Reiki

I like to do this right when I wake up in the morning. But you can do this anytime of day. Just turn on your Reiki if you are attuned and allow your mind to wander towards things that you associate with joy.

I find it helpful to focus on things that don’t hold contradictory energy. For example, if you think of a person, you may have all sorts of thoughts run through your head. Try and focus on a trait you love about them, or a funny moment or a happy memory.

In the beginning you may want to keep it truly simple. Things like looking at a sunset, feeling the ocean on your feet, the first time you saw your baby’s face.

Believe me the more you start to look for things that spark joy in your life, the more things you begin to notice.

When Joy feels out of REach

And if joy seems like too far to reach for right now, go for satisfaction. Things that make you feel satisfied or even things that bring you relief. Before you know it, your emotional set point will have risen and joy won’t seem like such a stretch.

So go ahead and give it a try. Turn on your Reiki when you wake up and mediate on things you associate with joy. Set your alarm a few minutes early if you need to.

And of course, you can do this meditation even if you aren’t attuned to Reiki. But Reiki will make it easier. Reiki is love and raises your vibration. This meditation is a good thing to try while you are receiving Continuous Distant Reiki.
