Spark Joy in Your Life with Reiki

Rainbows always spark joy for me

My guides have always taught me to go towards what brings me joy in life. Abraham (law of attraction) and Anastasia (Ringing Cedars) teach that we are meant to feel good and joyful in life. With the beginning of the new year and Netflix’s new show “Tiding Up” with Marie Kondo, I have been pondering joy.

How do you define Joy?

What sensations do you feel when you think of the word joy? I often have associated the word joy with feeling like I’m flying high, super excited, smiles, laughter, feeling like my feet are not even touching the ground. But maybe, joy is something more than just feeling super elated?

expanding your definition of joy

When meditating upon things that bring me joy, even with Reiki turned on, I found it a little hard at first. I started out looking for monumental things. It doesn’t help when my mind was already focused on stressful mundane things, like finances and schedules. It was challenging for me to find a joyful thought at first.

I took the pressure off myself to think of out of the ordinary things, like flying in a hot air balloon or getting a kiss from a sea lion.

I started thinking about things I appreciate, like having a warm bed and a loving dog cuddling next to me. Then I started to feel my vibration and emotional state rising. Meditating on things that brought joy became easier once I opened my perception of joy.

One of the things that I saw in my mind was fruit, papaya and melons. I even saw a head of cauliflower. I felt joy that those images popped in my mind when I was looking for what brings me joy. Such simple things, and fruits and vegetables, truly do spark my joy with the added benefit of sparking health.

Horses and dogs bring me joy too!

That’s when it struck me that joy really is simple. And when you start looking for moments of joy, no matter how small, they really add up. Those tiny sparks ignite a growing fire of joyful passion. Instead of thinking about joy being like someone winning $15 million, I started to think about a happy monk sitting in nature.

When I feel joy, I notice a warm, bubbling feeling in my heart chakra. This feeling can sometimes expand throughout my whole body and aura. I also noticed that I feel grounded in the present moment during moments of joy.

Joy truly is felt in the moment, even if you are thinking about something in the past or imagining something that will happen in the future.

Your vibration makes a difference

Did you know that the more love, joy and appreciation you feel not only alters your life, it can shift the course of humanity? Yes, you sitting alone in your room can add light to the world around. We are all co-creating with the divine light and the more love and pure vibration you hold positively effects us all. Each and every one of us makes a difference.

Meditating on Joy with Reiki

I like to do this right when I wake up in the morning. But you can do this anytime of day. Just turn on your Reiki if you are attuned and allow your mind to wander towards things that you associate with joy.

I find it helpful to focus on things that don’t hold contradictory energy. For example, if you think of a person, you may have all sorts of thoughts run through your head. Try and focus on a trait you love about them, or a funny moment or a happy memory.

In the beginning you may want to keep it truly simple. Things like looking at a sunset, feeling the ocean on your feet, the first time you saw your baby’s face.

Believe me the more you start to look for things that spark joy in your life, the more things you begin to notice.

When Joy feels out of REach

And if joy seems like too far to reach for right now, go for satisfaction. Things that make you feel satisfied or even things that bring you relief. Before you know it, your emotional set point will have risen and joy won’t seem like such a stretch.

So go ahead and give it a try. Turn on your Reiki when you wake up and mediate on things you associate with joy. Set your alarm a few minutes early if you need to.

And of course, you can do this meditation even if you aren’t attuned to Reiki. But Reiki will make it easier. Reiki is love and raises your vibration. This meditation is a good thing to try while you are receiving Continuous Distant Reiki.

The Healing Benefits of Going Barefoot With Reiki.

www.thereikimuse.comAre you feeling scattered, drained, anxious, having trouble sleeping or headaches? A free healing session is just beneath your feet.

Going barefoot allows the Earth to scan your feet and give energy reflexology to your body where you need it. The energy will actually travel to your organs, like in reflexology.  Walking barefoot also stimulates your healing reflexes when uneven ground or rocks press into the soles of your feet.

When you sit or stand barefoot on the Earth, also called Earthing, you may notice a warm soothing energy radiate up your feet, legs and into the rest of your body. The Earth energy feels very similar to Reiki. The Earth energy has the ability to heal, sooth and reset our energy bodies.

The Earth gets to know you and gives you just what you need energetically, just like Reiki does.  The Earth feels your unique energetic imprint and supports your varying needs.

The Earth gives us negative charged electrons which neutralize free radicals in our body.  The Earth energy acts like an antioxidant. Being in direct contact with the Earth stimulates the body’s self-repair systems, just like Reflexology and Reiki do. The sun sends charged particles to the Earth and then the Earth shares this beneficial energy with us.

The best way to Earth and absorb the healing and nourishing energy is to be barefoot on the ground or sit on a cotton sheet or blanket. Walking on the beach or sitting on grass are very beneficial.  The Earth is basically sharing electrical currents of energy with you, so think moisture which conducts electricity.  Wood, rubber, plastic don’t conduct electricity.

Some of the healing benefits of Earthing are:

  • improved circulation
  • better sleep
  • reduced anxiety
  • increased energy and metabolism
  • feeling more centered and present (grounded)
  • decreased inflammation
  • balanced hormones
  • calms the nervous system
  • improved immunity

Sounds like some of the same benefits of Reiki and Reflexology, right?

If you are attuned to Reiki, give yourself the added benefit of a self Reiki session while you Earth.  It’s a good idea to spend about 5-20 minutes a day Earthing, longer if you can.  I know when I do, I always feel recharged and uplifted.

How can you Earth when ground is snow-covered or it’s too cold outside?  Well if you’re like me, you may find yourself sitting on a clear patch of ground that is not covered in snow in the blustery wind for a few minutes just because it feels so good.  It’s surprisingly warm.

Here’s a simple meditation to use Reiki to connect with that loving, nourishing and healing Earth energy. You can try this if the weather is not conducive to walking barefoot or you live in the city.  You can do this outside, close to the ground, if you can.  It will also work indoors.

  • Breathe deeply.
  • If you’re not outside, imagine yourself sitting directly on the ground.
  • Send Reiki to the center of the Earth.
  • Feel your heart lovingly connecting with the Earth’s heart chakra deep in the Earth.
  • Feel appreciation for your connection with the Earth and all the loving support she gives freely while the Reiki continues to flow.
  • Intend that the Reiki and Earth energy travel up your Earth Star and Root chakras into your body. Imagine the Earth energy going up your feet. You can even create a Reiki shower to keep the energy flowing for longer  to ground and charge you. (Instead of having the shower coming down from the top, have it spout up from beneath you.)
  • Allow your energy and heart beat to sync with the Earth energy and heart beat.
  • Keep feeling the Reiki facilitate your connection with the grounding Earth energy knowing the divine energy in your heart is connected with the Earth’s divine light.

Giving the Earth Reiki while she gives you her healing energy is such a mutually beneficial relationship.  Even if you aren’t attuned to Reiki, the Earth feels the healing effect of your love and appreciation.

Happy Earthing!
